Los Angeles
Attractions
Visitors to Los Angeles should make plans to visit one or more
of the following area attractions: Walt
Disney Concert Hall, Kodak Theatre, Griffith Observatory,
Getty Center, Getty Villa, Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum, Los
Angeles County Museum of Art, Grauman's Chinese Theatre, Hollywood,
Hollywood Bowl, Staples Center, Dodger Stadium, and La Placita
Olvera/Olvera Street.
Attend
a performance at the Walt Disney Concert Hall
If there could be a hidden gem in Los Angeles, it is the Walt
Disney Concert Hall and the Los Angeles Philharmonic. At
times, it seems as if there is a performance at the concert
hall every night. Visitors to Los Angeles should put this on
their to-visit list; since concert goers in the Southland certainly
have.

Los Angeles Liveability
There are many lists and opinions regarding the City of Los
Angeles and liveability. The headline issues of the traffic,
the air quality and the beaches certainly receive a lot of media
attention.
Yet, few can doubt Los Angeles' economic prowess. It is the
third largest economic center in the world after Tokyo and New
York.
According to the 2010
Census counts, Los Angeles is the most populous incorporated
place in California with 3,792,621 people. The county of Los
Angeles has a population of 9,818,605.
LA's Umami Burger Wins GQ's "Burger Of The Year"
Well, one way to get Angelenos a little excited is to name
not just the best burger in town, but, the best burger in the
country [in 2010]! And yes, according to GQ Magazine, that burger
is Los Angeles' own Umani
Burger.
 |
Written
by an out-of-town writer, GQ boldly reports: the "ever
expanding four-shop Umami Burger chain, has rethought every
element of the hamburger experience. The bun. The meat.
The ketchup. The toppings. Even valet parking." |
As would be expected, this has generated quite a pro/con controversy
that is still talked about today. The recommendation from the
staff of 2City is the same
as most of the local Angelenos: visit the La Brea location (map
- 850
S La Brea Ave) over the Hollywood or other locations because
it's much more convenient to park. Enjoy your burger!
Did you know that ... ?
According to the international site Badoo, Los
Angeles is the #7 most flirtatious city in America -- online.
Cactus
League Baseball in Arizona for the Dodgers and Angels
Both LA area baseball teams - the Dodgers
and the Angels
- now make each of their Spring Training homes in Arizona to
prepare for the major league baseball season in February and
March every year.
After conducting
Spring Training in Vero Beach, Florida for many years, in 2009
the Dodgers moved to the 13,000 seat Camelback Ranch stadium
in Phoenix, Arizona for economic and proximity reasons.
FYI,
yes, Dodger Dogs are available at Camelback Ranch stadium ballpark concession stands.
